Our Journey of Support and Sharing Expands: Introducing the Tucumán Hope Project

At David Denies Bird Hunting, we understand the importance of giving back to the local communities we serve, and we are proud of our unwavering commitment to them. Since 1985, our motto has been “investing money in people“, and it’s a mission that continues to evolve. That’s why we are thrilled to announce our new project, supporting a local soup kitchen in the province of Tucumán, Argentina. Through this initiative, our goal is to provide assistance to children and families in the area, primarily by supplying them with dove meat obtained from our hunting activities at the lodge. We are excited to share more about this project with you!

The summer of 2023 marked the beginning of this project in response to the needs we saw in the area, particularly concerning the children. Located in the La Cocha department, Tucumán, approximately 30 km away from Tucumán Lodge, there is a small soup kitchen in Puesto Los Perez. Several months ago, we had donated boards and tables to help establish the soup kitchen in this place. Recently, we decided to expand our support. Upon arriving in the area, we came across a group of children having their snack under a tree on a plot of land where a chapel is being built. It was at that moment that we made contact with the responsible individuals of the soup kitchen, María Luz González and Carina González Del Valle, women who carry out this work out of pure love and vocation. We approached them and they told us about the importance of the soup kitchen in the community. Approximately 40 children visit the soup kitchen three to four times a week to receive a snack provided by a soup kitchen association. However, due to limited resources, they can only provide snacks and are unable to supply additional meals. It was at that instant that the idea of creating a dining hall, where children and their families could have daily meals, emerged.

Our goal is to build a big lounge and a kitchen that provide a comfortable and welcoming space for families to receive lunches and snacks. Furthermore, we plan to provide the necessary funds to purchase freezers and other kitchen tools, which will enable the proper storage of meats and food.

In addition to providing a more suitable space for daily meals, we are pleased to announce that we will also expand our dove meat donation project to this location. Every dove we hunt at Tucumán Lodge undergoes a meticulous cleaning and care process. We then donate this protein-rich meat to feed the local families. In doing so, we not only help meet the basic nutritional needs of the people but also find a valuable use for the natural resource affected by our hunting activities—the dove.

In summary, our project aims to foster family and social relationships, promote healthy coexistence, and encourage community participation, all with the goal of meeting the basic nutritional needs of individuals while finding a purpose for the natural resource impacted by our activities—the dove.

This new project showcases our dedication to corporate social responsibility and our unwavering commitment to making a positive impact. We will continue to listen, learn, and collaborate with local communities to identify areas where we can contribute and support sustainable initiatives that benefit those in need. We are thrilled to embark on this journey and eagerly anticipate creating lasting change in the communities we are privileged to serve.
